Active Pattern Continues - Multiple Rounds of Storms to Go

We're in the midst of a very active pattern as a ridge of high pressure sends disturbances around its periphery, with the northern half of the state in the line of fire. Last night's storms produced anywhere from 2-4" of rain in a swath across northern IL, with 4-7" observed in & around Rockford. Another round of storms will likely work its way across northern IL this morning, before a hot & steamy afternoon sets the stage for renewed thunderstorm development later this afternoon into tonight.
