Light Snow Tonight, Arctic Blast This Weekend!

Winter is in full swing across the country with several reinforcing shots of arctic air through early next weekend. The first will come behind our series of weak disturbances Wednesday night into Thursday, with the second, stronger push coming early Friday morning when temperatures on Friday may struggle to get above 0. Wind chill values will be in the -20 to -30 degree range Friday and Saturday, before a potentially significant winter storm impacts the mid Atlantic/Ohio Valley states. While most guidance has been in good agreement in keeping this system south and east of IL, we'll have to closely watch for any shifts in potential track that would bring an area of accumulating snow further north into IL. We'll be watching this weekend storm like a hawk, but for now we're more concerned about the extreme cold.
