Our first week of 2026 has turned quite mild, with temperatures in the 40s to 50s across the state today as a low pressure tracks north of the state. Another system will develop out of the Plains on Thursday, leading to widespread rain & 50+ degree temperatures across the state. Some areas further northwest could even see heavy rain on Thursday, with a very moist airmass in place for this time of year. Right on its heels another system will develop and move into the region just in time for the Bears game on Saturday, but this one looks to be a trickier forecast for now.
"Mild" but Active, Rainer Thursday, Another System Saturday?
