Severe Weather Threat Today/Tonight⚡
*Wednesday Midday Update*
In the wake of a complex of t’storms across Southern Illinois this morning, scattered t’storms are developing early this afternoon in the vicinity of a diffuse frontal boundary across portions of Central Illinois. This activity, along with further development, will track east/southeast across portions of Central Illinois into early tonight. A severe weather threat will be possible with this activity, isolated in coverage. Damaging winds, hail, and an isolated tornado will be the severe weather threats. Additionally, environmental conditions will be supportive of non-severe weather related funnel clouds as well.
Further south, t’storms/severe t’storms will develop later this afternoon and evening across Eastern Missouri and vicinity. This activity will have the potential to grow upscale into at least a loose cluster, which will traverse portions of Southern Illinois from late this afternoon into tonight. A severe weather threat will accompany this activity, isolated to widely scattered in coverage. While the main severe weather threat will be damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
