(11:30PM – Tuesday, March 10th, 2026) Severe t’storm threat continues into Wednesday…

⚠️Update…
•With this update, we have adjusted the forecast for the remainder of tonight and into early Wednesday morning, to account for trends and real time observations. For Wednesday’s forecast, we have adjusted severe t’storm probabilities slightly further north.

⏰📍Timing & Location…
•Tonight – Early Wednesday Morning, March 10-11th: Much of Illinois.
•Wednesday Morning – Wednesday Afternoon, March 11th: Southern Illinois.

⚡️Hazards…
•A level 1 to 2 severe t’storm threat is in place across much of the state from tonight through early Wednesday morning, for the threat of isolated to widely scattered severe t’storms. Large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado will be the main threats.
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place across Eastern and Southern Illinois from Wednesday morning through Wednesday afternoon, for the threat of isolated severe t’storms. Damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado will be the main threats.

✔️Summary…
•Tonight – Early Wednesday Morning… Widespread areas/clusters of showers and t’storms are ongoing across Northern and Central Illinois tonight. This activity will continue through the overnight and into early Wednesday morning across these areas, while also expanding into portions of Southern Illinois as well. Some severe t’storm threat is possible with this activity.
•Areas of shower and t’storm activity will be roaming especially portions of Central and Southern Illinois on Wednesday morning. This activity, including possible new development during the day, with track across severe areas into the afternoon. This activity will track northeast/east across especially Southern Illinois, from Wednesday morning through Wednesday afternoon. Some severe t’storm threat is possible with this activity.
