(11:00AM – Sunday, August 17th, 2025) Continued severe t’storm threat to start the week…
Timing & Location…
•Monday Morning – Tuesday Morning, August 18-19th: Northern & Central Illinois.
Impacts…
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place from Monday morning through Monday night/Tuesday morning across Northern and portions of Central Illinois, for the threat of isolated severe t’storms. Damaging winds and hail will be the main threats with activity.
Discussion…
•Sunday Morning – Sunday Night… With remnant outflow boundaries across the state in the wake of overnight t’storm activity, which is reinforcing a back-door front, isolated to scattered showers and t’storms will be possible across the state from this morning through tonight. While organized severe t’storm activity is not expected, a non-zero severe t’storm threat cannot be ruled out with activity.
•Monday Morning – Tuesday Morning… A few showers/t’storms may be ongoing on Monday morning across portions of Northern Illinois. The main focus will be Monday afternoon, when scattered t’storms will develop across Eastern Iowa, Southern Wisconsin and Northern/Western Illinois. This activity will then traverse Northern and portions of Central Illinois, from Monday afternoon through Monday night. Severe t’storms will be possible with some of this activity.
