(11:30PM – Monday, July 28th, 2025) Continued severe t’storm threat thru mid-week…

Timing & Location…
•Monday Night – Tuesday Morning, July 28-29th: Northwestern & Western Illinois.
•Tuesday Morning – Wednesday Morning, July 29-30th: Northern & Central Illinois.
•Wednesday Morning – Thursday Morning, July 30-31st: Much of Illinois.

Impacts…
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place across portions of Northwestern and Western Illinois from tonight through Tuesday morning, for the threat of isolated severe t’storms. Damaging winds will be the main threat with activity.
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place across portions of Northwestern and Western Illinois from Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning, for the threat of isolated severe t’storms. Damaging winds will be the main threat with activity.
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place across much of Illinois from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning, for the threat of isolated severe t’storms. Damaging winds and hail will be the main threat with activity.

Discussion…
•Monday Night – Tuesday Morning… A complex of rain and t’storm activity will attempt to move into portions of Northern and Central Illinois later tonight and Tuesday morning. However, this activity will be in a steady weakening phase, and thus, may not make it deep into the state. Severe t’storms may be possible with some of this activity.
•Tuesday Morning – Wednesday Morning… A complex of rain and t’storm activity, in a weakening phase, may be ongoing across portions of Northern and Central Illinois on Tuesday morning. However, this activity may not make it deep into the state. In the wake of this early activity, there is a conditional chance of additional isolated to scattered rain and t’storm activity across especially portions of Northern Illinois during Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. Also, of focus will be a complex of rain and t’storm activity, which will push into Northwestern Illinois late Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Severe t’storms may be possible with some of this activity.
•Wednesday Morning – Thursday Morning… A complex of rain and t’storm activity will be ongoing across portions of Northwestern Illinois on Wednesday morning. This activity will then track across portions of Northern and Central Illinois into Wednesday afternoon. Additional development of scattered rain and t’storms will also occur south of this activity, then affecting portions of Central and Southern Illinois, from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night. Severe t’storms may be possible with some of this activity.
