(11:45PM – Sunday, July 27th, 2025) Severe t’storm threat continues next couple of days…

Timing & Location…
•Sunday Night – Monday Morning, July 27-28th: Northwestern & Western Illinois.
•Monday Morning – Tuesday Morning, July 28-29th: Northern & Central Illinois.

Impacts…
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place across portions of Northwestern and Western Illinois from Sunday night through Monday morning, for the threat of isolated severe t’storms. Damaging winds will be the main threat with activity.
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place across portions of Northern and Central Illinois from Monday morning through Tuesday morning, for the threat of isolated severe t’storms. Damaging winds will be the main threat with activity.

Discussion…
•Sunday Night – Monday Morning… While a few showers and t’storms will dot the state on Sunday night, the main focus will be a weakening complex of rain and t’storm activity that drops southward into portions of Northern and Central Illinois late Sunday night and into Monday morning. Severe t’storms may be possible with some of this activity.
•Monday Morning – Tuesday Morning… A weakening complex of rain and t’storm activity will be ongoing on Morning across portions of Northern and Central Illinois. This activity may even persist into midday Monday or so as well. Additional isolated to scattered showers and t’storms may be possible across portions of the state, from Monday afternoon into Monday night. Also of focus will be another complex of rain and t’storm activity, which will be in a weakening phase, will attempt to move into Northwestern Illinois late Monday night or Tuesday morning. Severe t’storms may be possible with some of this activity.
