(11:00PM – Sunday, April 27th, 2025) As a storm system moves through the region, waves of shower and t’storm activity will traverse especially Central and Southern Illinois, from Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning. Severe t’storms will be possible with some of this activity.
Timing…
•Tuesday Morning – Wednesday Morning, April 29-30th.
Location…
•Central & Southern Illinois.
Impacts…
•A level 1 severe t’storm threat is in place across portions of Central and Southern Illinois, for the likelihood of isolated severe t’storms.
•Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats with activity.
Discussion…
•A cold front will press into portions of Northern Illinois on Monday night, bringing with it the chance of isolated to scattered showers and t’storms. As this front presses further across the state between Tuesday morning into Tuesday night, more widespread and organized shower and t’storm will be likely in waves across the state, continuing into Wednesday morning as the front becomes more stationary. Environmental conditions will be supportive of a severe t’storm threat with some of the activity across portions of Central and Southern Illinois between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning.
