(9:00PM – Saturday, April 19th, 2025) A brief look at the weather conditions expected across the state for Easter Sunday.
Easter will featured mixed weather conditions across the state, as a storm system will be impacting the region. Whether you’re headed out for an Easter egg hunt, brunch, or a gathering…weather conditions may prove to be an issue. Rain, t’storms, severe t’storms, and a wide range of temperatures can be expected across the state on Easter Sunday.
Notes…
•As a warm front lifts northward across the state, temperatures will quickly rise to highs in the 60’s and 70’s across Central and Southern Illinois, perhaps eclipsing 80 degrees across far Southern Illinois. Across Northern Illinois, which will stay north of the warm front, high temperatures will likely be stuck in the 50’s.
•While an initial wave of showers and t’storms lifts across the state Sunday morning and afternoon, of more focus will be the potential for a few isolated severe t’storms to potentially develop in the vicinity of a northward moving warm front across Central and Southern Illinois during the afternoon. Also of focus will be a QLCS, which will sweep across the state from Sunday evening through Sunday night. The greatest severe t’storm potential with this activity will be across West/Central and Southwestern Illinois, gradually fading with further extent into the state.
