(12:15PM – Tuesday, April 1st, 2025) As a parade of storm systems move through the region from mid-week through the weekend, repeated rounds of rain and t’storms can be expected across the state.

Timing…
•Tonight – Sunday, April 1-6th.

Location…
•All of Illinois.

Impacts…
•Across roughly the northern half of the state, much of the rainfall during this period will occur Tuesday night through Wednesday night. Localizes flooding will be possible.
•Across Central and Southern Illinois, repeated rounds of heavy rain/t’storms will be likely over a multi-day period, leading to scattered to widespread flooding potential.

Discussion…
•As a parade of storm systems and disturbances move through the region from mid-week through the weekend, repeated rounds of rain and t’storms can be expected across the state. With both Pacific and Gulf moisture involved, high PWAT’s and dew points will be present. This will lead to efficient rainfall production from every round of activity expected. Of focus will especially be Southern Illinois, where the greatest training of activity will occur from round to round. Upwards or in excess of 12″ of rainfall will be possible during this period. The will lead to the potential of catastrophic flooding across this area.
